Steve is a registered professional engineer in Maryland and Virginia. He grew up in the masonry industry, learning the trade from his father, Bob Sullivan, who was masonry superintendent for Blake Construction for over 30 years. After receiving a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Maryland, Steve and his father owned and operated S.E.S. Brickwork, (a commercial masonry contractor) for over five years. Prior to joining Genco Masonry, in 1995, Steve worked as a civil engineer, general contractor, owner's representative and consultant, as well as Vice President and Project Manager for other local masonry contractors. During this time period, Steve also earned his B.S. in Business Management from University College and a Master's in Civil Engineering from Catholic University. Steve became Genco Masonry's President in 2007. This vast array of education and experience allows Steve to assist General Contractors in design and constructability reviews, budgeting, scheduling and project coordination.
Ed was educated at Montgomery College where he studied Architectural Technology. He began his career in masonry as an estimator in 1976 and joined Genco Masonry in 1983 after operating his own general contracting firm for several years. Between 1982 and 1989 he continued to perform estimating duties including quantity surveys, material pricing and labor productions. In 1989 Ed was promoted to Vice President of Estimating and in addition to his estimating duties he became involved in negotiations, project scheduling, purchasing, and monitoring project progress. Ed thoroughly experienced in all phases of computer estimating and scheduling. Ed is currently Senior Vice President, Business Development and in this position he will serve as Genco Masonry's primary contact with our clients.
Joe started with Genco Masonry as an estimator in 1980. Joe is thoroughly experienced in all phases of computer estimating, quantity surveys, material pricing and labor productions. Joe has continued to increase his expertise in the masonry field by earning many certificates for programs of continuing education offered by the Mason contractors Association of America. His years of experience with all types of masonry construction allows him to assist our clients with project budgeting, constructability reviews and project schedules. In 1989, Joe was promoted to Vice President-Estimating.
Robert has been with Genco Masonry since 1989. Robert was a foreman and made the transition to our office as an estimator in 1998. Robert is thoroughly experienced in all phases of computer estimating, quantity surveys, material pricing and labor productions. In 2004, Robert was promoted to Vice President-Estimating. Roberts field experience as a foreman and his many years of estimating benefit our clients every day.
John started his masonry career with Genco Masonry in 2001 as an office engineer and has worked as an assistant foreman, assistant project manager, project manager and currently serves as vice president - project management. Prior to joining Genco Masonry, John created electronic construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and Microstation applications. In addition he worked and performed several phases of construction materials testing and geotechnical engineering with Law Engineering and Robert Prater Associates in the capacity of an engineering technician. John has attended and successfully passed all the required safety-training classes and seminars, such as Army Corps QC Management, OSHA 30-Hour Program, Hazmat, CPR/First Aid Training courses. This vast array of experience allows him to assist General Contractors in design and constructability reviews, budgeting, scheduling and project coordination.
